So between trying to keep my head above water with orders, my regular job and just life in general. I have some news regarding the Xforma MKII cases.
Initially the front LED was a single diode but you were stuck to that one color unless you wanted to swap it for a different color LED which required a full disassembly and well that's not a great option.
Then there was a 12v RGB option but had to be linked to a AquaComputer Farbwerk to change the colors, which at the time built in RGB controllers on motherboards were not really common even on high end boards. This is different now and even most budget boards have a built in series of heads for RGB control.
I have talked to the factory making the samples for the RGB diode board to have a few options. The new RGB assemblies will be 5v ARGB and have the option for a short cable for use with something like the newer Farbwerk controllers or a longer cable to route to a ARGB header on the motherboard.
Samples should be heading out soon for me to review and provided they work and fit in their spot, I will be ordering enough to have backups just in case.
The same factory is also producing our rigid LED strips for the new Luminous panels. These new panels are designed to be repairable, something the original ones lacked as they were solvent welded shut. Making accessing the LED strip inside nearly impossible.
It took a bit of searching but I was able to find 8mm thick acrylic for the front panel defuser. Also I should be receiving my sample run of the duratrans film that allows the front panel pattern to glow smoothly.
We ordered a set of demcifilter filters for the TJ07 series, they are coming from South Africa so transit times might be a bit extended but if these work they will be included with the first 10 cases for the lower bay mesh inserts.
Now we did change somethings with the order's for these cases. Since this project is coming out of my pocket to make it a reality we did put a nonrefundable $250 deposit for those that pull the trigger on these cases. Reason being is we want people to be 100% certain that they want this piece of history. If we authorize production of a certain core component and then someone cancels their order, that puts us in a rough spot. This is different from the stores cancellation policy for cables. Once a preorder is confirmed the $250 is nonrefundable but the remaining amount will be refunded.
We did enable an option to put a $499.99 dollar deposit on the case instead of the full $899.99, with the other $400 due at time the case is ready to ship + shipping cost. So for those of you that wanted to lock in a case but couldn't quite afford the full $899.99 at once, hopefully this helps as we do have under 5 units available right now.
We have a few other updates coming up such as a vertical mounting solution and new reservoir design since the 50mm reservoir is not an option moving forward as they were custom ordered and small run from EKWB. I am currently working on a video over the case itself that will be posted to the youtube channel.
