Corsair Type 5 Connector Supply Issues

Corsair Type 5 Connector Supply Issues

Hello guys! The new Corsair PSUs have easily been our most popular when it comes to SFF cables, this included the SFX-L and SFX 750-1000 watt PSUs. However they use the Molex micro-fit+ connectors for the PSU side of the PSU.

Sourcing these has always been a bit tricky, as they are considerably more expensive for both terminal and connectors but as a late this sourcing issue has gotten even worse.

I put in an order for 2000 connectors from our supplier for the 8 pin connect which is used for basically all the PCIe related cables and initial estimates were that they would arrive early December, this date has been pushed back but we have not been given an updated ETA.

I've gotten as many orders as I could and even restricted the Rush orders to excluding the corsair type 5 for the time being but I am down to my last handful of 8 pin connectors. I wanted to be as transparent about this issue as it is outside of my control. I have placed multiple orders with both domestic and international vendor just to see who can get me my order first, to finish orders for y'all.

I do apologize for the wait, for the longest time it was the 10 and 18 pin that I had issues sourcing but now, the 8 pin is the issue. I have checked Molex's website as they will show what stores have the connector available but when I reached out to the suppliers they let me know they are backordered as well. I was able to source 10,000 of the 16 awg terminals for the micro-fit+ connectors but am working diligently to source more connectors as I know demand for these is not going away. In total I have 6,000 connectors awaiting delivery, so after this, supply should never be an issue.
